Setup

Get your API key in the developer console

Keys start with ctc_. Replace ctc_… in the examples below with your full key.

  1. Sign in to the dashboard Open the developer console at app.prosperadata.com.
  2. Open API keys Choose “Create key” and give it a name you recognise, such as claude-code.
  3. Copy the key once The full key is shown only at creation time. It starts with ctc_.
  4. Keep it secret Never commit the key to a repository or share it. If it leaks, revoke it in the dashboard and create a new one.

Configuration

Register the MCP server in Claude Code

Run this in your terminal to register ProsperaData as an HTTP MCP server named prosperadata.

Verify the registration with claude mcp list: prosperadata must appear with transport http and the endpoint https://mcp.prosperadata.com/mcp. The --header value must be Authorization: Bearer followed by your full key.

Troubleshooting

Claude Code and MCP: common problems

claude: command not found

Install or update the Claude Code CLI and reopen the terminal so the claude command is on your PATH.

prosperadata does not appear in claude mcp list

Run the claude mcp add command again from the same project or user scope you launch Claude Code from, then check claude mcp list.

Claude Code answers 401 Unauthorized

The --header value must be Authorization: Bearer followed by a space and your full key. Keys start with ctc_. Copy the key again from the developer console; if it was exposed, revoke it and create a new one.

Claude Code answers 429 Too Many Requests

The monthly company-credit quota for the account was reached. Wait for the next monthly period or upgrade in the developer console.

The agent returns no companies

Every search requires a country and concrete offer terms (what the company sells), and returns at most 100 companies per call. Broaden the country or the offer terms and try again.

Why no personal emails or phone numbers?

ProsperaData is company-level data by design: your agent gets company identity, offerings and generic business contact channels where eligible — never personal-contact profiles.
